Blue Alliance works under long-term agreements with local governments to manage Marine Protected Areas on their behalf. These agreements typically run for 10-year terms and are renewable indefinitely. That way, commitments are aligned with real management plans on the ground – long enough to deliver meaningful results.

By making a Blue Commitment, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

NATURE OF THE COMMITMENT
The Blue Commitment is not a financial product and provides no financial return or tradeable value. It cannot be sold or transferred for profit. However, supporters may dedicate or gift their Blue Commitment to another person or organisation. A Blue Commitment does not represent ownership of ocean or reef areas, nor is it a carbon offset or credit under international standards. It is a symbolic sponsorship that funds tangible conservation action and community support.

MANAGEMENT OF CONTRIBUTIONS
Financial contributions made through the Blue Commitment are received and managed by Blue Alliance and its registered non-profit subsidiaries. All funds are used exclusively to support the long-term protection and regeneration of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), in line with Blue Alliance’s mission and charitable objectives. Contributions are made under the financial oversight of BDO.

LEGAL GOVERNANCE
Contributions to Blue Alliance are governed by the laws of the country in which the relevant subsidiary is registered. A supporter’s relationship is with Blue Alliance and its affiliated non-profit entities, not with any national government or authority. No commitments or obligations, contractual or otherwise, are made or entered into by host governments.

POLICY OR LEGISLATIVE CHANGES
Blue Alliance operates under long-term agreements with national and local governments to co-manage Marine Protected Areas. While every effort is made to ensure continuity, supporters acknowledge that Blue Alliance is not responsible for future changes in government policy or legislation that may affect the size, scope, or designation of any MPA. Contributions are therefore made at the supporter’s own risk, with no recourse against Blue Alliance or host governments in the event of such changes.

DEFINITIONS
In these Terms and Conditions, “You” and “Supporter” refer to any person or organisation making a Blue Impact Commitment.
