Aquahub’s vision is to lead the future of sustainable aquaculture while safeguarding marine biodiversity. Profits generated by Aquahub are reinvested into conservation and community programs, benefiting local people and protecting marine ecosystems over the long term.
We create, fund, and promote reef-positive businesses around Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) that reduce specific drivers of coral reef ecosystem degradation and support local communities.
The Aquahub group are committed to supporting coastal communities in transitioning from wild stock depletion to sustainable aquaculture, cultivating high-value seafood while regenerating essential habitats such as mangroves and seagrass meadows.

We work to develop Community-Based Aquaculture in, or adjacent to Marine Protected Areas that are co-managed by Blue Alliance
On Pemba Island, Tanzania, we have established Aquahub Zanzibar Ltd. as a Zanzibari limited company. Aquahub is owned 100% by Blue Alliance PECCA.
Aquahub aims to foster a community-based sea cucumber mariculture industry in PECCA (Pemba Channel Conservation Area) by leveraging its sector expertise and investment resources to establish large-scale, highly profitable, and professionally managed sea cucumber farms across multiple communities in the PECCA area.
Aquahub works closely with various stakeholders, including local and national governance structures, producer groups, and community development boards, to ensure that the farming model and activities are well understood and agreed upon by all involved parties.
The farming model developed by Aquahub prioritises the involvement of community-based producer groups, placing them at the forefront of the emerging sea cucumber farming industry. Additionally, Aquahub aims to produce a marketable product that can generate export revenue for the nation.
Blue Alliance has established Aquahub Philippines Ltd. as a Philippines limited company. Aquahub is owned 100% by Blue Alliance Philippines. Aquahub is dedicated to pioneering sustainable aquaculture of mangrove crabs and sea cucumbers while ensuring the protection of marine biodiversity.
Over the past few years, we have focused on improving survival rates in mangrove crab farming through enhanced protocols, strategic partnerships with pond owners, and the establishment of a hatchery-nursery system.
As part of our long-term strategy, we are scaling up operations to enhance production and market impact. Our hatchery-nursery expansion is set to produce over a million mangrove crabs annually in the upscaling phase. At the same time, our grow-out farms are projected to expand from 20 hectares to 200 hectares by 2028, with an estimated annual harvest of 200,000 adult crabs. Sea cucumber production is also expected to scale alongside, with hatchery and nursery discussions currently underway for a site in Guimaras Island following a successful site survey. We have also secured two new grow-out farms, further supporting our production goals.
