The Provincial Government of Maluku and the Blue Alliance Indonesia Foundation have entered a landmark, long‑term co‑management agreement to strengthen the protection and sustainable use of 1.5 million hectares of marine conservation areas in one of the world’s most biodiverse seascapes.

106 olive ridley hatchlings released in Calapan; more expected

A total of 106 olive ridley sea turtle hatchlings are being prepared for release into the sea from a protected hatchery in Barangay Navotas, Calapan City, on Sunday, February 22, 2026. The activity, led by the city’s Bantay Dagat, Fisheries Management Office, and Blue Alliance-Philippines, is part of ongoing efforts to protect the vulnerable species, with additional releases expected through March.

Field Visit to the Banggai Islands

Our team recently had the privilege of welcoming partners from Milkywire, UK Blue Planet Fund, and BNP Paribas for a two-day field visit in Banggai, Indonesia. Together, we travelled from Luwuk to the remote community of Lumbi Lumbia aboard our low-impact ecotourism vessel, the Bajau, operated by Nomad Archipelago.
