In October 2024, the bank committed to a $35 million Blue Finance Facility with Blue Alliance to finance Marine Protected Areas across Indonesia, the Philippines, Tanzania, and Cabo Verde, targeting the regeneration of 1.8 million hectares of coral reef ecosystems across 115 MPAs. The facility uses blended finance, philanthropic capital from the Global Fund for Coral Reefs alongside BNP Paribas’s own impact investment, with interest rates indexed to environmental outcomes.

106 olive ridley hatchlings released in Calapan; more expected
A total of 106 olive ridley sea turtle hatchlings are being prepared for release into the sea from a protected hatchery in Barangay Navotas, Calapan City, on Sunday, February 22, 2026. The activity, led by the city’s Bantay Dagat, Fisheries Management Office, and Blue Alliance-Philippines, is part of ongoing efforts to protect the vulnerable species, with additional releases expected through March.
